It’s a question that stops many people in their tracks — “Do you know where you will spend eternity?” It’s not meant to bring fear, but reflection. Life on earth is temporary. Our days, no matter how full or long they seem, eventually come to an end. But what happens next? The Bible makes it clear: death is not the end — it’s a doorway to eternity.
Every soul will spend eternity somewhere. Hebrews 9:27 reminds us, “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” That means every person will face God and give an account for their life. The reality of eternity isn’t about religion or good deeds; it’s about relationship — specifically, your relationship with Jesus Christ. Many people hope their good works will outweigh their bad, but Scripture tells us that salvation isn’t earned. Ephesians 2:8-9 says, “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” Eternal life is a gift — freely offered through Jesus Christ.
Heaven is not just a place of beauty and peace; it is the home of God Himself. It’s a place where there is no pain, no sorrow, and no death. Revelation 21:4 paints this picture: “He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Those who put their faith in Jesus are promised this eternal home. John 14:2-3 says, “My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with Me that you also may be where I am.”
The truth is, everyone must make a choice. Jesus said in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Believing in Him means surrendering your life and accepting His forgiveness. Eternity with God begins the moment you invite Jesus into your heart. You don’t have to wait until the end of your life to experience peace — He offers it to you today.
So, do you know where you will spend eternity? God loves you deeply and wants you to spend forever with Him. The choice is personal and eternal. Your eternity can be secure — not because of who you are, but because of who Jesus is.
